The setting for GUERILLA CINEMA PRESENTS: CUMBERNAULD RE-HIT is an empty diner in the waning Scottish new town of Cumbernauld. Forty years after the town centre was built, Cumbernauld finds itself struggling with lost potential. In the cinema-less town, an empty diner becomes an outdoor cinema for one day, screening a mid-1970s James Bond style take on the dry promotional films produced for Scotlands new towns during that era. The outdoor cinema can only be viewed through a single street front window, emphasizing the inaccessibility and nostalgia of past utopian visions.
