Gypsum Drywall

A gallery wall is excavated in the manner of an archaeological dig. The excavated "site" is transformed into an "artifact" when it is displayed outdoors. The original grid of the artifact is transformed by exposure of the elements for four full seasons. Viewed from an aerial perspective, the artifact again becomes a site reminiscent of modern-day human settlement patterns and their interactions with the landscape. As nature plays its course, the grid collapses and disappears, the foundations shift, and eventually washes away.
